All that talk of Rory McIlroy usurping Tiger's throne atop the PGA Tour was premature. While McIlroy is flailing in the wind, Woods stormed back in the third round of the Palmer Invitational to assume the lead, shooting 6-under for the day, going into the final round with a two-stroke lead over the trio of Justin Rose, John Huh and Ricky Fowler.
A win on Sunday would push Tiger back to his comfortable slot as the No.1 golfer in the world. However, Woods isn't getting too comfortable yet.
"Just because I've won here doesn't ensure that I'm going to win the tournament," Woods said after the round. "The conditions are different. The game might be different, but the objective is still to put myself in position to win the golf tournament and somehow get it done on Sunday. Over the course of my career I've done a pretty decent job of that."
