Tiger Keeps On Pushin’, Shooting Even For Round Two at a Treacherous Muirfield

The struggle is very real out there at Muirfield, as the course just seems to get harder as The Open Championship goes on. Many of the players who were on top at the end of Day 1 got into some trouble Friday. Tiger Woods was one of the few who bucked that trend, going even par to stay at -2.

Right now, Tiger is tied for fourth on the leaderboard. Phil Mickelson shot +1 and is tied for 8th.

It’s been pretty much unanimous from the players who finished the early rounds that the course will only get tougher as the day goes on. Cue deep exhale from Tiger.

“These guys will have to go out this afternoon and obviously play a golf course that’s quick, and it’s drying out with a different wind,” Tiger said. “So it will be tough out there.”

Now the world’s No. 1 golfer gets to sip some tea in the clubhouse while the comp battles through the afternoon grind. Safe to say he’s sitting pretty at the moment.
