For the past two seasons, Oregon and Stanford have been in a gridlock for the Pac-12 crown. The Ducks won the conference title in 2011, while the Cardinal took over the throne in last year, but in the past two seasons, both teams were tied with an 8-1 record.
This year, the media picked Oregon to win the Pac-12 North division, as well as the conference title, in a preseason poll during Pac-12 media day. As expected, though, it was pretty close.
From the AP:
Oregon received 14 of the 25 first-place votes in the poll, earning 139 points. The defending Rose Bowl champion Cardinal received 11 first-place votes and 134 points.
One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a battle when Oregon visits Stanford in November, and you better believe it will be a conference title-decider. The entire Pac-12 preseason rank is here.
