Texas Southern Upsets No. 4 Ranked Mississippi State In Baseball

Sometimes your first win can also be your biggest win.

After starting the season 0-9, Texas Southern got into the win column in a big way when they traveled to Mississippi and knocked off the No. 4 ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs 8-4 on Tuesday.

The Tigers (1-9) took a 7-3 lead during the fourth inning after the Bulldogs (5-2) scored twice in the bottom of the first.


Camden Guarnere (1-0) got the win for Texas Southern, as MSU’s David Dunlavey (1-1) took the loss.

Before Tuesday, the Tigers had fallen to New Mexico State, Oklahoma, and Wichita State.
