Texans’ Arian Foster to have surgery

Texans running back Arian Foster will more than likely need to have surgery after suffering a groin injury during training camp. The injury happened during a passing play for the team first fully padded training practice of the season.

Foster,  who is one of the best and most versatile backs in the league, put up amazing numbers last season despite missing games and playing through injuries. Now it looks like he will likely miss the start of the regular season and potentially won’t see any action until after week six if the injury is as serious as presumed.

The Texans front office moved quickly to replace Foster, who rushed for 1,246 yards last year, by calling and scheduling veteran running back Pierre Thomas to make a visit. The team is looking to step it up offensively this year, with a string of injuries seeming to plague them at important positions.

Hopefully Foster, who is no stranger to playing through injuries, can return sooner than expected and get back to having another solid season.
