TCU QB Trevone Boykin Arrested For Assault On Police Officer; Issues Apology

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested in San Antonio, Texas after hitting a police officer during a bar fight. 

The QB was charged with public intoxication, assaulting a public official (third degree felony) and resisting an arrest. He, along with wide receiver Preston Miller, have been suspended from the Horned Frogs’ Alamo Bowl game against Oregon. 

Boykin finished within the top-10 in Heisman voting the past two seasons. He passed Andy Dalton as TCU’s all-time leading passer this season, finishing with 3,574 yards passing and 31 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions. He issued an apology via twitter:
