A rising young star as a reporter and TV host for SportsNet New York aka SNY, home of the New York Mets TV broadcasts and the New York sports scene in general, she paid her dues and had extensive on the job training with Fox Sports and the Big Ten Sports Network while still in college.

Her father was a former college football player at the University of Illinois and her uncle Marv Woodson was a former NFL Pro Bowl safety. And, oh yeah, another uncle was Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Lou Brock.

Brock is married to her grandmother’s sister and as a child, she once stood on the Busch Stadium turf with him as he tossed out the first pitch, surrounding by a swelling chorus of “Lou!!!!” At her young age, she erroneously thought they were boo’ing him.

The dream of working in television, specifically in sports, coalesced when she once saw Pam Oliver blazing a trail for other Black women sports reporters. Now, she’s sincere about responding to the young women who reach out to her for advice on breaking into the industry, knowing how important proper guidance and advice is in terms of succeeding in one of the world’s most competitive industries.
