Check out Ryan Swope's description on NFL.com.
“Very reliable receiver, his hands are strong enough . . . strong route knowledge,” the NFL.com profile says. “Gives excellent effort blocking . . . straight-line speed and acceleration are only average. . . . Doesn’t have the elite athleticism.”
Pretty standard for a white dude. But Swope proved the scouts lazy — at best — with his 4.3 40 time at the NFL Combine. As Swope told the Dan Patrick Show, "I think a lot of people were pretty shocked. You don't see that every day, a white guy running a 4.3.”
Swope set multiple school records at Texas A&M, including 10 100-yard games in his career with the Aggies. Turns out, everyone was too dazzled with Johnny Football to notice.
