If you think Russell Wilson is spending his offseason having cold sweats about that ill-advised pass at the end of Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1, then you don’t know how he gets down.
Sure, failing in his task to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl winning QB since Tom Brady ruffled Wilson’s competitive feathers a bit, but it didn’t do anything to diminish his standing as an inspirational world class athlete, exquisite character guy and personal favorite of millions of kids.
Wilson spoke with The Shadow League as he prepares to host Nickelodeon’s second annual Kids’ Choice Sports Awards on July 16th, live from UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
He says he can’t wait to take in the performances, greet the young sports fans in attendance and classically slime some unsuspecting, open-mouthed youth.
Wilson also spoke with Da’ Gambler about his future as a professional baseball player. Wilson has attended Spring Training with the Texas Rangers and impressed coaches in the past. We don’t know how much of this is to help along Wilson’s contract negotiations with Seattle, but it was interesting to hear the winningest QB in the NFL over the last three years admit that “baseball is my first love.”
We also asked about him about his dealings with hip-pop songstress Ciara. First Russ was spotted with the sexy diva, keeping it low pro with some shades on at the Seattle Mariners game over the weekend. Then on Wednesday, an online media conglomerate released its partial guest list for Saturdays White House Correspondents dinner and it includes the Super Bowl winner and his date Ciara.
Even in defeat, this guy’s still putting championship trophies on the mantle.
