And so the crazy NBA post-season continues.
Today the Chicago Bulls announced that they have parted ways with point guard Rajon Rondo, waiving the guard after only one year with the team.
Rondo is still owed $3 million by the team, who would have been on the hook to pay him $13 million if they hadn’t waived him before today’s deadline.
The veteran point guard averaged a career low 7.8 points and 6.7 assists last season, well below his career averages of 10.7 and 8.5, respectively. But he just never seemed to fit in with Wade and company this past season, even though he did help them make a final push towards the end of the season which enabled the team to make the playoffs. In addition, Rondo seemed to clash with Wade and Jimmy Butler, particularly after the veterans lashed out at younger players after a loss to the Hawks.
On to the next one for Rondo, who still has some gas left in the tank.
