Boeheim was initially suspended this past spring after an NCAA investigation found Syracuse guilty of several rules violations including eligibility issues and improper benefits given to student-athletes. The Syracuse head coach has adamantly denied the allegations and has alluded to possibly taking further legal action.

Instead of missing the first nine ACC conference games, Boeheim was cut somewhat of a break by having to miss the next nine games. He will only miss three ACC contests and will make his return to the sidelines on Jan. 9th, in a huge conference matchup against UNC. The Orange are off to a surprising 6-1 start after a strong performance in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
