Sylvia Fowles is arguably the greatest double-double machine in WNBA history. She’s averaged double-doubles in five of her 10 seasons and has come awfully close several other times.
Since coming out of LSU in 2008, Fowles has put it down as the Moses Malone of women’s pro hoops, with a renowned defensive game to compliment a more than capable offensive repertoire and grit. She won a WNBA title with the Minnesota Lynx in 2015. Shes a four-time all-star and a three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner.
In the past, she’s been overshadowed by others with more dynamic offensive games and captivating resumes. But now after being voted the 2017 WNBA MVP, Fowles can officially say she’s done it all.

The 6-foot-6 double-double dominator averaged 18.9 points and 10.4 rebounds a game in the regular season. The 31-year-old helped the Lynx post the WNBA’s best record (27-7) too.
“It’s a proud moment for me to standing here as the 2017 MVP,” Fowles said upon winning the award. Fowles who is in the middle of the playoffs and trying to help the Lynx won their fourth WNBA title in seven years, got 35 of 40 first-place votes. She also led the league in field goal percentage and was second in black and rebounding. She also finished in the Top 5 in scoring; a true all-around obliterator.
