NFL’s First Male Dancers Set To Hit The Sidelines This Season

The NFL has had its fair share of negative spot light moments, this time it’s actually for something positive.

According to CNN, for the first time ever, the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints will have male cheerleaders dancing on their squads.

Dancers Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies are still shocked by the news since making the Rams cheerleading squad back in March.

Still can’t belive I’m one of the first males in history to be a pro NFL cheerleader! Everyone’s support and love has been insane! thank you and GO RAMS! @RamsNFL @LARamsCheer #LARams

Other teams, such as the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens have stuntmen. However, Peron and Jinnies will be dancing alongside their female teammates doing the same two step.

This has since inspired others, like 25-year-old Jesse Hernandez who auditioned back in April for the New Orleans Saints Saintsations cheerleading team and made it.

While this is a move towards inclusivity for the NFL, there’s much more room for improvement. This is still a good step in the right direction.
