King James has done it again.
With 39 points in tonight’s destruction of the Raptors in Game 2 of their playoff series, LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (5,762 points) for 2nd all time in playoff scoring at 5,777 points. Looking down on King James is the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan.
Needing 25 points to take over second place, James accomplished that feat when he hit a 3 pointer with 8:41 left in the third quarter. Now all he needs is 211 points to pass MJ’s record of 5,987 points, but MJ was able to set the record in just 179 postseason games while James has played in 205 playoff games over 14 seasons.
James also ranks seventh in regular season scoring with 28,787 points. Kareem still leads with the all time record of 38,387 points.
