As someone who doesn’t think LeBron James deserves a slot on the NBA’s Mount Rushmore, simply because of the way he abandons shaky situations before they collapse, rather than stepping up, gutting it out and showing the will of a supposed GOAT, I have to say I told you so to a couple of my loyal LBJ sheep who still believe that LeBron will retire in Cleveland.
He’s not going to stay in Cleveland. I knew this after he won the title in 2016. I knew hed be gone by 2018 to join another team stacked with Top 10 talents in their prime, ready to go to that next level with the addition of the games greatest player. Let’s not forget why they call him and he calls himself “The King.” When he’s on a warpath and he doesn’t get what he wants kingdoms fall quickly.

Deadspin.com reported on USA Today reporter Jeff Zillgitt’s information about how LeBron James, who will be a free agent next summer, is processing this offseason.
They say he’s not chipper, but we know this. He lost another shot at a title and that’s all he’s about. It was a lost year in Cleveland. For a number of reasons, Cleveland will be losing James too.
Adding insult to injury, according to Zillgitt, James is displeased with team owner Dan Gilberts decision to let go of former GM David Griffin just days before the draft, and is still riffing about the teams inability to improve the roster.

Lebron James is reportedly not happy with this decision from Dan Gilbert… #Cavs https://t.co/WLDIf0hz0w
I get it. LeBron is mad that they left Griffin go, but he simply needs an excuse to leave Cleveland. With Golden States continuous rise to Super Team status after the addition of KD and another championship win over King James and the myriad power moves teams across the league have made to shift the balance of power into their favor, LeBron understands that Cleveland is not championship caliber and he wants no part of the situation. Hes chasing Jordan and must utilize these last five or six years of his career in a way that is conducive to winning titles. His legacy depends on it in the eyes of most basketball purists.
James is likely to end up with a team on the upswing like the Lakers.
He has another season to peep how that develops. He has one more season to see how all of these new partnerships and pairings develop and then he can pick the best situation for him, like he always does. He’s buying himself time by making Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert the bad guy, same as he did when he bounced to Miami and grandmothers were burning his Cavs jersey in 2011. Gilbert’s scathing editorial incited some disgruntled fans, but mostly backfired and garnered LeBron support from the African-American community who felt that Gilbert’s comments were overboard.
In the meantime, James had to throw it out there, that hes very upset and that will ultimately be the reason why he leaves Cleveland– again. The mad chemist is at it again.
