LeBron James Remains Fearless In The Face Of Oppression

At the end of the day, and I mean at the very end of the day, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar forward LeBron James will be held in higher regard than most of his contemporaries.

Despite naysayers who continually harp upon James lack of heart when he differs to a teammate in the closing moments of critical games, James is one of the bravest professional athletes the United States has ever seen.

On Tuesday, he continued to build on his resume of outspokenness when addressing Donald Trumps milquetoast speech regarding the Charlottesville race riots.

Standing on stage before families and students from his foundation event at Cedar Point Amusement Park, LeBron spoke on the disgusting clashes that resulted in the death of a woman and two others and the other grave injuries suffered at the hands of white supremacists. He spoke from the heart and made his supporters love him that much more.

“I know there’s a lot of tragic things happening in Charlottesville (Virginia),” James said. “I just want to speak on it right now. I have this platform and I’m somebody that has a voice of command and the only way for us to get better as a society and for us to get better as people is love. And that’s the only way we’re going to be able to conquer something as one. It’s not about the guy that’s the so-called president of the United States, or whatever the case.”

“It’s not about a teacher that you don’t feel like cares about what’s going on with you every day,” James continued. “It’s not about people that you just don’t feel like want to give the best energy and effort to you. It’s about us. It’s about us looking in the mirror. Kids all the way up to the adults. All of us looking in the mirror and saying, ‘What can we do better to help change?’ And if we can all do that and give 110 percent, then that’s all you can ask for.

“So, shout out to the innocent people in Charlottesville (Virginia) and shout out to everybody across the world that just want to be great and just want to love. Thank you, and I love you all.”

James was joined on stage by his three children, singers Usher and Jordin Sparks, and Cavaliers teammate J.R. Smith.

It’s sad what’s going on in Charlottesville. Is this the direction our country is heading? Make America Great Again huh?! He said that

Our youth deserves better!! Flat out

Earlier that day, James was on Twitter admonishing Donald Trump, calling him the so-called president. Though opponents to his message have already come forward to admonish him for disrespecting the office of the presidency, it should also be noted that the current president was the bandleader for disrespect toward the prior POTUS, Barack Obama.

Irony? Probably, but it sounds more like white privilege to me.
