The John Wick franchise has been an unexpected success story for Keanu Reeves and Lionsgate. Thus far John Wick: Chapter 2 has made $92 million at the box office thus far. As of late, the phenomenon of ensemble actions films have become the norm. Not only has this played out in the most recent run of superhero-inspired movies, but in popular recreations like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Fate of the Furious.

So it’s only right that John Wick 3 would follow a similar formula. Recently, Halle Berry posted on her Instagram account that she would be appearing in the third installment of the popular film franchise. Angelica Houston, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick will all appear in the film as well. The first two films feature Wick largely operating on his own. But those in the know suspect this will be an ensemble in the truest sense of the word.
Written by Derek Kolstad and directed by Chad Stahelski, the next chapter in the Keanu Reeves action franchise is set to open on May 17, 2019.
