Dallas Cowboys stars Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescotts first year in the NFL was one big celebrity party, and Elliot has continued living it up this offseason, releasing his inhibitions publicly in full view for the world to see.
After a historical 2016 where both players had rookie seasons for the ages but fell well short of a Super Bowl title, their youthful exuberance and celebrity intoxications are making interesting fodder for the social media tabloid titans and rumor runners.
According to TMZ, “Elliott pulled a woman’s shirt down — exposing her bare breast — during a St. Patrick’s Day party in Dallas … but a rep for Zeke says it was all in good fun.
Zeke was drinking a beer next to a group of people while on the roof of a Dallas bar to watch the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Greenville Ave.
The woman is playing to parade goers and motions at her breasts — then points to Zeke. Next thing you know, he reaches over and pulls her top down, exposing her bare breast. She scrambles to cover up.
We spoke with Elliott’s rep who told us the woman wasn’t upset … and actually hung out with Zeke and a group of friends after the parade ended. The TMZ video shows Elliott reaching in a second time and she slaps him away before flashing her cleavage to the crowd below.”
Apparently “no harm, no foul” applies here. Although in the video, Zeke looks like the one who is the groupie. He’s sure to hear from the NFL about that one. The league’s reputation is bad enough without reinforcing the chauvinistic stereotype and anti-women rhetoric that it faces. If the woman didn’t admit to being fine with it, Zeke could be facing a world of legal trouble over a spur of the moment loss of sense.
Its obvious that the offseason has a better chance of stopping Elliot’s rise than anything that may be designed to stop him on the field.
Before he ever took the field for an NFL game last season, he was a suspect in a domestic violence situation, and then he was spotted in a weed dispensary. The story made some noise on the social media circuit, but quickly died down as fans anticipated his arrival on the field. Zeke is young and hes living la vida loca. If it doesn’t affect his play, I guess he’s entitled.
But I cant help but to think back to that wild bash he and Dak had at So & Sos in Dallas after the Cowboys record breaking 11-1 start.
They celebrated their 11-1 record by popping bottles of champagne while club goers threw stacks of cash. To my knowledge ballers don’t pop champagne until they win the Super Bowl. But thats another story for another day.
Zeke likes to have fun like any other 21 year old. The fact that he is a rich, African-American celebrity only heightens his visibility but his desires are no different than any young adult just out of college.
He just has to understand that when he wilds out for a second like a college kid and starts grabbing breasts and such, hes still holding old white man bank and playing for one of the worlds leading pro sports franchises, so it’s going to be all over social media in about five minutes. But even more than that, if the woman in the video was not cool with what he did, his actions could have warranted a sexual assault charge. And Zeke needs to recognize that they could still warrant just that,
Just another lesson learned for Elliot who has the world at his fingertips, but still has some natural maturing to do, which includes an immediate and vital need to understand that actions have consequences.
