To hear Draymond Green tell it, the Golden State Warriors would be reeking of champagne right now had he not been suspended for Monday night’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland.
“”I have a strong belief that if I play in Game 5, we win,” Green said after watching LeBron James and Kyrie Irving treat the Warriors like 50 Cent when he eviscerated Ja Rule in perhaps the most lopsided Hip Hop battle ever.
In the aftermath of James’ 41 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists, and Irving joining him in the new hoops 40/40 Club with 41 points of his own, the Cavs took full advantage of Green’s absence, avoiding NBA Finals elimination with a 112-97 victory.

“I move on from the suspension,” Green continued. “That was Game 5; we’re here in Game 6, so it’s behind us. We got an opportunity to do something that, I don’t know if it’s ever been done … where you win a championship on someone else’s floor two years in a row. We have that opportunity. It’s a fun one. It’ll be tough.”
It’s become apparent, despite the brilliance of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, that the most important and crucial piece to Golden State’s dominance is their MVP, Draymond.
Thompson poked the bear when saying that LeBron had his feelings hurt during Game 4, and we see how that turned out. He came at the King, and missed. James and Kyrie responded with perhaps the greatest one-two punch in the history of the Finals.
But Green was obviously unimpressed. He basically threw down the guantlet, setting things up for a final showdown.
In essence, he got his Detective Alonzo Harris on, telling LeBron, Kyrie and the rest of the Cavs, “I’m putting cases on all you b******….. You motherf*****s will be playing basketball in Pelican Bay when I get finished with you…. STEPH CURRY ORTHOPEDIC SHOE PROGRAM, n*****!!!…I’m the police! King James ain’t got s*** on me!”

That was a bold statement from a confident man. Can’t wait to see how he, LeBron and Kyrie respond.
