Derek Fisher, former Los Angeles Lakers point guard, was the victim of a burglary Monday morning.
Fisher alleges that $300,000 worth of jewelry was taken from his San Fernando Valley home, including his five NBA championship rings that was won during his two stints with the Lakers. The first three rings were won during a three-peat from 2000-2002. The last two were won when the Lakers repeated in 2009 and 2010.
Fisher was not at home at the time of the incident.
The five-time champion made recent headlines this past Monday for his comments on the current state of the New York Knicks, the team he coached from 2014-2016 before he was fired mid season.
He also revived his well-documented and public spat with former teammate Matt Barnes, whose ex-wife he began a relationship with. Barnes responded in a lengthy Instagram post in which he berated Fisher.
“He sound real tough on here, didn’t sound like that when he was running around my house screaming & pleading,” wrote Barnes.
