Greatness is a word often associated with LeBron James, his presence and his impact on the modern game. And last night in a statement Game 7 Cavs win vs the upstart Boston Celtics, the 33rd year old definitively earned it.
With a stat line of 35-9-14, it would be an understatement to say #LeThanos didnt establish the games tempo. Playing all 48 mins and with some much need help from his teammates (finally), including Jeff Green (19 points) and JR Smith (12 points), #LeThanos humbled the Celtics crowd.

Game 7 wasnt without its moment of doubt and the Celtics winning the first two games of the eastern conference finals wasnt a fluke. Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has been praised for his strategy and rotations, and veterans like Al Horford and the youth movement asserted themselves like theyve been doing all season.
Terry Rozier, Jaylen Brown, and free agent Marcus Smart have given the Celtics much to look forward to in the future, but Jayson Tatum almost put the team on his back last night. While hawking LeBron throughout the game, Tatum completed the circle of life, by yamming on James in the fourth quarter.

Heroics aside, no team wants to see LeBron in a game 7 and the arena was losing energy with each passing second. Greatness isnt like the concept of beauty, where its all relative your personal experiences, but on the hardwood, and especially during this season, its time to appreciate the James while hes still in his prime. And his athletic peers would agree, with damn near universal praise.

Like his homie, Drake in the summer, LeBron James is at his best, when adversity is his greatest opponent. It doesnt matter if the jerseys are red, green, or from Canada, James is putting on a show with each win or lose. As we wait for the Cavs final opponent to be decided tonight, and whether its an old foe or new challenger, it doesnt matter. LeBrons literally made a home here in the NBA finals for the past decade, and it wouldnt be fair for us as fans to appreciate this once in a generation player. All hail the king.
