As good as A-Rod has been since returning to the Yankees lineup from injury, all people seem to want to talk about is his 211-game suspension, steroids, his past. You know, the juicy stuff. Baseball is fun and all, but basically everyone loves a hot mess, especially the media. What's a larger ambition for a reporter asking A-Rod a question at this stage of the slugger's career, having him comment on a home run, or seeing what can be had out of him on this Biogenesis madness?
Rodriguez is shutting it all down, or so he says. He's asked his lawyers to quit talking to the media, and let him focus on helping the Yankees win in these last 30-plus games of the season, as they look in from the outside on the AL East lead as well as the Wild Card race.
A-Rod is still working on the appeal of that suspension, which allows him to play for the Yankees. Thing is, he wants everyone to focus on just baseball, as if it's really that easy. Hate to be the one to break it, but this is baseball.
