The insanely successful and setback-littered journey of Adrian “Purple Jesus” Peterson has been well documented – from his extraterrestrial training and rehab methods, to rushing for 2,097 yards a year removed from ACL surgery, to his lengthy NFL suspension stemming from an indictment for reckless or negligent injury to a child after hitting his four-year-old son with a switch.

Peterson is known to be a rubberband man of sorts. His entire life has been about overcoming tragedies and rebounding stronger than before. The chip on his shoulder never left and its driven him to greatness.

At the age of 32 with 11,747 rushing yards and 97 TDs of major traction under their cleats, most ballers would call it a day with mind, body and legacy in tact. Peterson isnt built that way. Since the day the Vikings released him, Peterson has been anticipating Monday night’s season-opening battle between his New Orleans Saints and Minnesota.
According to the New York Daily News, in a recent interview with the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Peterson sounded bitter about the way he and the team parted ways. Instead of exercising the option on Peterson that would have paid him $18 million for 2017 and would have been a nice retirement package for all of Petersons years of phenomenal service, the Vikings chose to make Peterson a free agent.
He didn’t lash out or discredit Minnesota in public. He quietly went and signed with the Saints for substantially less. With Monday night’s matchup approaching, now he’s talking Super Bowl and about giving Minnesota the business.

Terms Peterson told me he’s agreed to at this point. 2017 compensation: $3.5M (all guaranteed at signing) {$1M G-salary in ’17 and $2.5M SB}
In my mind, we’re starting and ending the season in Minneapolis, AP said, referring to the site of Super Bowl LII. Of course I want to stick it to them. I want to stick it to everyone we play. But going back to Minnesota, playing the Vikings? Yeah, I want to stick it to them.
You might just catch Adrian Petersons last career 200-yard rushing game on Monday night. W’eve seen this kind of hunger in him before and it usually exudes great results.
