Baltimore wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. tore his right Achilles tendon after catching a pass in the third quarter of the Ravens 29-26 win against the San Diego Chargers.
The 15-year veteran, who announced his intent to retire following this season, moved into the NFL’s top-10 all-time in reception yards. But after this injury, it will be interesting to see if he returns to Baltimore in effort to retire on his own terms. His coach seems unconvinced that this is Smith Sr.’s, last game.
“I have a feeling Steve Smith will be back,” Harbaugh said.
Despite his obvious sadness when carried off the field yesterday, Smith let his fans know he’s still in good spirits.
