This past season you could hear a pin drop as Steelers’ All Pro Linebacker, Ryan Shazier, lay on the turf grabbing his back. Emotions swirled and everyone thought the worst as he was driven out of Heinz Field.
But as the weeks progressed, we saw more and more photos of Shazier as he began the long process of recovering from a severe injury which could have been even worse. He showed up at the team’s remaining games in the final weeks of December and then continued to document his progress from the hospital and other venues, fans showing support through chants of “I Shalieve.”
Today, through team general manager Kevin Colbert, we learned that while he was recovering, Shazier will miss the 2018 season.

Kevin Colbert says, “Ryan Shazier won’t play in 2018.” Says he’ll be a part of the #Steelers, but there will be some sort of designation for him.
While it’s surely disappointing, it’s great to hear that Shazier is continuing to make progress, as was reported earlier this month. With his family, friends, fans and strong faith behind him, there’s no reason not to “Shalieve” that #50 will be back in good health soon.

I’ve trusted God all my life. My family, friends and fans know that my faith was tested recently more than ever. I’m delighted to say my love for God has only grown through this trial and I’m trusting God and that all things work together for his good. https://t.co/ag9pQmgTc1
