Soulja Boy’s Forming His Own Esports Team

Following his own video game console announcement, looks like Soulja Boy is diving deep into the esports world.

Soulja Boy plans to start his own Esports franchise in 2019, with the mentorship support of none other than Ninja.

The team will reportedly compete in Fortnite, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Counterstrike, and more. Previously, the “Crank That” rapper made headlines when he announced his own video game console called SouljaGame Console. The system can allegedly run PlayStation, NeoGeo, PC, Sega, Game Boy Advances and NES games, as well as “SouljaGames.”

But, the entrepreneurial rapper made it clear to TMZ that he wants to take it another step further by launching an esports rival to the likes of Team Liquid and 100 Thieves.

Soulja Boy Launching Esports Franchise, I’m Learning from Ninja

Soulja Boy tells TMZ Sports he’s gunning to start his own Esports franchise in 2019 — with teams competing in Fortnite, Overwatch and more … and his mentor is none other than Ninja.

“We’re gonna be finding talent, hiring talent,” Soulja said. This does not come as a surprise considering Soulja Boy has always been an avid gamer within the community. Hopefully, things progress for him and he’ll educate Ninja more on the growth and popularity of video games.
