A spokesman for the NFL network has said that Warren Sapp has been terminated.
Sapp was arrested at a Phoenix hotel on Monday while he was in town to cover the Super Bowl. The former Tampa Bay Bucs defensive stud was charged with suspicion of soliciting a prostitute and assault after he apparently got into a dispute with an escort over money. Sapp was a NFL network personality and a fixture in the NFL’s Super Bowl coverage. The 42-year-old, who played 13 seasons and was inducted into Canton in 2013, is facing misdemeanor charges, one count of soliciting and two counts of assault.
The apparent altercation turned physical and ended up in the hallway. Security officers working the hotel were notified of the situation by the escorts. Reportedly, both women exhibited injuries that indicated a struggle of some sort. The women were arrested for prostitution and violating Phoenix’s escort permit requirements.
