Barry Bonds still gets no love from Hall of Fame voters, but his relationship with the rest of the MLB community seems fully repaired. Hes worked as a hitting instructor for several MLB teams and hes still embraced by the city of San Francisco despite his past PED accusations.
MLBs all-time home run king will take one more step towards Cooperstown and a full revamping of his public image as the San Francisco Giants announced that the greatest hitter of baseballs PED generation will have his number retired on August 11th.
After setting his career off in Pittsburgh, Bonds played the last 15 of his 22 MLB seasons with the Giants and hit 586 of his 762 carer bombs wearing San Fran threads.

The San Francisco Giants announced that Barry Bonds will have his number retired on August 11th. His will be the 10th uniform number retired by the franchise (not including Jackie Robinson’s 42, which is retired across all teams)
Since being forced out of baseball in 2007, the seven-time MVP has made a remarkable reintroduction to MLB. Bonds is finally getting his due in August as another legendary player in the illustrious and talent-laden history of a Giants franchise that began in New York and was one of baseballs most dominant squads in the early 1900s, before announcing a move West along with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1957.
San Francisco fans havent gotten many opportunities to thank Bonds for the historic moments he blessed the franchise with during tenure. He certainly helped the owners triple profits every time he blasted a ball into McCovey Cove or moved one dinger closer to Mark McGwires single-season home run record and then Hank Aarons all-time mark.

The BBWAA might be trying to erase Bonds from the history books, but in reality there arent enough erasers or delete buttons in the world to minimize Bonds accomplishments. Now the city of San Francisco gets to show adulation for a guy who redefined hitting excellence during his controversial and incomparable MLB experience.
