We warned you on Friday that this weekend's "money game" matchups wouldn't be pretty. Even though it was expected, results of some of these matchups were down right discouraging to many HBCU supporters. Many on social media questioned whether or not these games actually help the programs involved. We'll let you decide for yourself.
Ohio State 76, Florida A&M 0
The betting line on this game was 50 points, and that was nearly cleared by the start of the second quarter. The Rattlers were out-gunned in pretty much every statistical category. FAMU had as many yards in penalties (50) as it did on the ground. All told, Ohio State outgained FAMU by a ratio of more than 6 to 1 on a day where regular starting quarterback Braxton Miller didn't throw a pass.
As unwatchable as this game was, both programs achieved their objective. Ohio State picked up an easy win without getting anyone hurt, and Florida A&M got a $900,000 payout. Just another day in the business of college athletics.

A few hours after Florida International requested a running clock against Louisville, Savannah State and Miami agreed to a 12 minute fourth quarter and Miami still set a school record for points scored. Sadderday…

Winston-Salem State 35, Tuskegee 13
After a tight first-half, WSSU's 21-point third quarter outburst against defending-SIAC champ Tuskegee helped it take home its second straight Cleveland Classic trophy. The win was WSSU's 20th in a row against an HBCU opponent.
Tennessee State 41, Tennessee Tech 21
Quarterback Michael German came off the bench to throw three touchdown passes in the second half to help Tennessee State win its Ohio Valley Conference opener.
Florida State 54, Bethune-Cookman 6
Though there would be no upset, Bethune-Cookman put up the best "fight" of any of the teams facing top-flight competition this week. The Wildcats went 9 for 18 on third down conversion attempts and gained nearly 200 yards on the ground.
