Report: Arrest Warrant Issued For DeMarcus Cousins

Boogie has warrants.

According to USA Today, an arrest warrant for DeMarcus Cousins has been issued for a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. According to reports, Cousin’s ex-girlfriend and his son’s mother, filed a police report on Friday hours after she alleged that Cousins told her “I’m gonna make sure I put a bullet in your f**king head.” TMZ released the audio of the recorded phone call on Tuesday.

On Thursday, a Mobile, Alabama police spokesperson told USA TODAY Sports on that “an arrest warrant has been issued,” as the third-degree harassing communications charge was listed on the Mobile municipal court website.

It is believed that the recorded conversation between Cousins and the mother of his child stemmed from Cousins wanting his son in attendance at his wedding that took place this last weekend in Atlanta.

Cousins missed most of last season due to recovering from a torn Achilles. He also injured his quad during the NBA playoffs. He tore his left ACL a few weeks back after he signing a one-year deal with the Lakers in July.

“We are aware of the allegation involving DeMarcus Cousins and, of course, take this claim seriously,” the Lakers said in a statement on Tuesday. “We are in the process of gathering information and will reserve further comment at this time.”
