News that one of Mitt Romney’s five sons — in this case Tagg — would get so angry as to want to confront President Obama doesn’t shock me. I’m sure many of us have had similar thoughts regarding politicians with different viewpoints. A son wanting to defend his dad is natural and probably the most authentic thing I’ve heard any of the Romney boys say during this campaign. What I don’t understand is why he would say it aloud on a radio show. Here’s how he responded when North Carolina radio host Bill LuMaye asked is he ever wanted to take on the President.
“You want to rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him. But you know you can’t do that because… Well, first there is a lot of Secret Service between you and him but also because this is the nature of the process.”
Whether joking or not, it’s certainly a stupid decision to even put that out there.
