To earn a Division I scholarship is a tremendous thing for a young student athlete, especially so when you earn a spot at a school like Notre Dame. But things don't always work out as planned.  ND head coach Brian Kelly recently announced that Fighting Irish quarterback Andrew Hendrix is slated to be released from his scholarship. Hendrix was once considered a lock to start for the Fighting Irish two years ago. However, he has proven to be frustratingly inconsistent throughout his career. There's no word yet on where he's slated to transfer to, but he will be able to play immediately because of the NCAA graduate transfer rule.
