Chip Kelly does everything quickly. He even expedited his own plan to name a starter after the third or fourth preseason game by naming Michael Vick the starter over Nick Foles after two preseason games. In Chip Kelly's run-oriented offense, the running game will be central. Essentially, Vick will be relied upon to take the occasional shot downfield, but McCoy and possibly Bryce Brown will be relied upon to keep the chains moving.
Foles has resembled an adequate starting skillset in the first two weeks of the preseason, but the difference in Vick and Foles has been noticeable. Vick's explosive downfield passing has stood in stark contrast to Foles' methodical approach. However, Vick's 86% completion percentage has quickly set him apart. Saturday evening's third preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars will be a dress rehearsal for their Monday Night Football Opener. Vick better look sharp or the City of Brotherly Love and Kelly might be second-guessing their decision.

"We've evaluated the situation and Michael Vick is going to start for us against the Washington Redskins," Kelly said. "He'll get the predominant amount of reps today in practice and he'll play, hopefully, our plan is for him to play two quarters in Jacksonville."
Kelly said he met with Vick, Foles and the other quarterbacks on the roster Tuesday morning and informed them of the decision. He said Foles' reaction was "great."
"They both played at a high level," Kelly said. "I just think that Mike played at a higher level."
