Michael Vick will start tonight's preseason opener against the Patriots, but first-year Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said Nick Foles will share just as many reps with the No. 1 unit.
Kelly said Vick is starting the game only because it was his turn in the rotation and that Foles will start next week against the Panthers.
"I can't read into it," Vick said of the starting nod, according to The Philadelphia Daily News. "Coach, all he told us is that I'm going to start, but it won't be the same next week. So you've got to take it for what it's worth and keep moving."
Vick obviously still hasn't won the starting job in Philly, so his preseason performance seems like it's actually going to be worth paying attention to. And Foles, too.
