During his two electrifying seasons seasons quarterbacking the Virginia Tech Hokies, Michael Vick passed for 3,299 yards and 21 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1,299 yards and 17 scores.
He went on to become the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft.
Louisville’s sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson, who looks like a freaky combination of Vick and Randall Cunningham, has made Vick’s numbers with the Hokies look downright pedestrian. And the leader of the now #3 ranked Cardinals has only played in a mere 15 games. Through the first three games this year, he is on pace to have close to 4,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards.
And in terms of getting to the end zone, he projects out to combining for over 70 touchdowns with his arm and his feet.
Jackson ran for four touchdowns and threw for one more as Louisville got their biggest regular season win ever, pummeling the Seminoles as if they stole Grandma’s Bingo money in Saturday’s 63-20 smack-down. He ran for 146 yards and passed for 216 yards more against a defense that was being touted among the country’s best.
Jackson and head coach Bobby Petrino have the Cardinals shining as legit national championship contenders.
Vick knew what he was looking at, and wanted to make sure that everyone else knew it as well.
Lamar Jackson 5x better than what I was at V-Tech….Enough said!! #future

Their matchup in two weeks, against Clemson and their dynamic QB Deshaun Watson on Saturday, October 1st, could easily be the game of the year and an instant classic. Stay tuned!
