Megan Thee Stallion’s Bodyguard Skips Trial Testimony To Go To World Cup | The Rap Trial Of The Decade Gets More Confusing By The Day

The mystery surrounding rap star Megan Thee Stallion’s case against Tory Lanez was solved at the World Cup when her “missing” bodyguard resurfaced. While the world watched Argentina take home the chip at the global soccer event, Megan Thee Stallion’s former bodyguard, Justin Edison, who missed his day in court to deliver testimony in the case against Tory Lanez, was found in Qatar.

He attended the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to serve one of his other clients. Ahead of the discovery, Megan’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, told Insider about the next steps.

Who Is Meg The Stallion’s Bodyguard Justin Edison?

“I can confirm that Justin Edison, Megan’s bodyguard, was set to testify in court, did not appear, and is now missing,” Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, said to media outlet Insider. “Law enforcement is investigating the matter.”

However, Edison is possibly looking to avoid the court proceedings and instead is continuing his business amid the legal mess. An insider said as much to MediaTakeout, and that business took him to the United Arab Emirates.

“Justin (Edison) was hired as personal security (for a very important person) and is currently in Qatar, while (the person he is protecting) is at the World Cup,” the unnamed source said to MediaTakeout. The source also stated that Justin “plans to continue with his security gig, until the VIP he’s protecting is back home, safe and sound.”

Per the bodyguard’s Instagram page, he appeared in full Islamic garb in the UAE with the caption, “This was one of the greatest moments of my life. I wouldn’t change for anything and ready for my future. #Blessed”

His next post was screenshots of people coming for him in the comments over him not testifying in court. His response was definitive.

“Before you come on my page or comment on any of my posts please know the facts and have the right person. Clowns like this, their mom should’ve swallowed them instead of having you. #PlayWithSomethingSafer with a demon emoji.

Edison is listed online as a football defensive end for the Indoor Football League that played college ball for UCLA. He has played for four teams total, with his last being the Nebraska Danger.

The Other Side Of Fame

The female rap superstar accused Tory Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, of shooting her in the foot after a small get-together gone wrong in July 2020 at Kylie Jenner’s Los Angeles-area home. The prosecution and the defense team had all agreed there was an argument in the car after leaving Jenner’s home; unfortunately, the descriptions of the incident differed.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office accused Lanez of the shooting. It charged him with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a gun, and carrying a loaded, unregistered handgun in a vehicle. Earlier this month, he received a new charge, discharging a firearm with gross negligence relating to the conflict.

Lanez, a Canadian citizen, has pleaded not guilty to the charges but faces up to 22 years in prison if convicted. Megan has vehemently maintained that Lanez shot her and yelled, “dance, b***h, dance,” mimicking a scene in the comedic movie “Harlem Nights.”

“When I get out the car, I hear Tory say ‘Dance, b-tch,'” Megan said in her testimony about what proceeded the shots. “I froze. I’m in shock, I’m scared. I can’t believe he’s shooting at me.”

Although Megan’s bodyguard was not present, two others were present, her now ex-best friend and former assistant, Kelsey Harris, and Lanez’s driver, Jauquan Smith. Harris sent Justin a text from the vehicle saying, “Help. Tory shot Meg. 911,” a damning account.

Prosecutors sought the bodyguard’s testimony because he allegedly went to Lanez’s home the next day after the shooting to pick up Megan’s belongings, per Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott’s opening statements in court. Edison told the prosecution that Lanez confessed to being “too drunk,” shooting in the air and at the ground the night before. Bott asked the judge on Friday to issue a body attachment warrant for Edison.

The World Cup produced Argentina and its superstar Lionel Messi a win. Now the games also are a small part of the ongoing trial saga of Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez.
