Seven years after Lorenzen Wright’s decomposing body was found in the woods in Memphis, it appears that authorities have finally found his killer.
Sherra Wright, the ex-wife of the former 13 year NBA veteran, was arrested in Riverside, CA and charged with first-degree murder in his death.
Memphis police had been investigating Wright’s murder for the last seven years, making it one of their more unsolved, high-profile cases. Then last month a break in the case occurred when the gun used to kill Wright was found in a lake in Mississippi, about 75 miles east of Memphis. Then on December 5th, Billy R. Turner was indicted on charges of first-degree murder. According to reports, Turner and Sherra Wright attended the same church
According to Memphis Police Director Michael Rallings, they are still looking into other people and the investigation continues.
After her ex-husband’s death, Sherra received a $1 million payout from Lorenzen’s life insurance policy.
Looks like Lorenzen was set up by his ex-wife. More to come as this story develops.
