Lindsey Vonn, one of the U.S. Team's best chances for Olympic skiing gold in Russia, took a drastic blow by suffering injuries to her ACL and MCL in her right knee.
Vonn took the tumble during a jump in the Super-G. The four time World Champion and 2010 Olympic Gold medalist lost her balance, flipped in the air and collided into the gate. The violent fall caused her twist her knee which caused the ligament tears.
The U.S. Ski team is currently predicting that Vonn’s season is over for 2013 but will be back in time to qualify for the 2014 Olympic Games.
We’ve seen Adrian Peterson come back from major knee injuries and medical technology has improved drastically over the last 20 years. It’s definitely possible Vonn can still be back to win a gold medal, but it will be the greatest challenge in her career.
