Legarrette Blount and Ben Tate Already Have New Jobs

On Thursday, Patriots signed the recently released Legarrette Blount to a two-year deal. Blount, who was a Patriot before his time as a Steeler will likely get more carries than in Pittsburgh though as there is no definitive running back carrying the load. Blount could be the power back behind Jonas Gray. He was signed to the veteran minimum but likely knows the playbook from his time in New England.

Ben Tate has also been claimed as well by the Minnesota Vikings. Its an interesting move for a team looking for options after Adrian Petersonn was suspended for the season. Tate was released bby Cleveland after a poor performance against his former team Houston. Now that he could potentially be the starting back for the Vikings, Tate has to see this as an opportunity to shine in Minnesota.

Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata are both banged up leaving the chance that Tate could steal the starting job.

Tate inked a two-year $6.2 million contract before being claimed by the Vikings so expect him to give it his best shot. Next year Tate is expected to net $2.2 million so he should see this as a fresh start.
