Kobe's Bryant's Namath-like guarantee that the Lakers would make the playoffs has some teeth now that the Lakers have broken the seal to the eight seed. Realistically, L.A. now has a shot at the sixth seed and Bryant's heroics have even given his MVP candidacy a real bump.
