Kevin Ware Has The Adrian Peterson Gene And His Recovery Is Nearly Complete

Not going to lie. When I first saw, Kevin Ware's fibula and tibula bones protruding out of his lower leg last March, I thought he'd never play again. When I heard about the positive diagnosis for his recovery, I assumed the road ahead would keep him out for the 2013-14 season while he built the muscle back in his leg. Turns out I was off by about a season and that I know as much about modern medicine as Dr. Andre Young. Not only has Ware already taken part in his first full-contact practice, but he'll be in uniform for the Cardinals' season opener, but it's uncertain if he'll actually play.

Maybe, elite athletes aren't the only ones who have the RGIII/Adrian Peterson accelerated healing gene.

Via ESPN:

Pitino said Ware will be in uniform for the team's season opener on Saturday against the College of Charleston, but it's still uncertain whether he'll play.

"He went through everything today," Pitino said. "And for someone who hasn't played since March, he looked very good."
