Kerry Washington's been shuffling around Hollywood for a while now. Her profile rose as Chris Rock's I Think I Love My Wife co-star, however, the Scandal and Django Unchained star has become a household name over the last two years. Washington wasn't named The Shadow League's top Black Beauty, but as a consolation prize she was named the "hottest woman on TV" by Elle Magazine and sounded of on her unexpected success.

"I'm the luckiest broad in Hollywood now," she told the mag. "To be the lead actor on 'Scandal' and to be in the highest-earning Tarantino movie — I don't get to ask for more."
The 36-year-old will next appear in Tina Gordon Chism's comedy "Peeples," alongside "The Office's" Craig Robinson and David Alan Grier. The film hits theaters May 10.
But her recent success seems to be unexpected. If you were to ask her if she ever thought she'd be an actress or model, she'd say no.
"I was not that girl. I was a kooky theater kid, silly and goofy and academic," she said. "I imagined I'd be a clinical psychologist, with a focus on how performance shapes identity. I'd figure out ways to use role-playing in the healing of people."
