Joe “Jellybean” Bryant speaks with “Brown and Scoop”

The biggest news of this year’s NBA season is that Kobe Bryant announced that he would be retiring at the end of the season. With that news fans everywhere want to get as much of Kobe as possible, and who better to talk about The Black Mamba than his Father, Joe “Jellybean” Bryant.

TSL contributor, Brandon Robinson, spoke with Mr. Bryant on his “Brown and Scoop” podcast, and they heard his thoughts on everything from his son, to Michael Jordan to rising star Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves. 

As a fan, just watching him play and putting up all those points and playing at such a high level at such a great organization like the Lakers. I think that’s probably one of the important things, Papa Bryant said. These kids come out of school and they worry about being a number one pick, number two pick, I think it’s more important that you get with the right organization and Kobe was able to do that and as you see, playing with one organization is really something special.
