Jay-Z Gets Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nod

Rapper, philanthropist, corporate tastemaker  and all around legendary music artist Jay-Z from Marcy Projects in BK will be enshrined and forever immortalized as one of the newest members of the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame!

Hov joins a distinguished 2021 class that also includes legends Tina Turner, Carole King, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, and Todd Rundgren as part of the Performers category.

He’s not the only hip hop legend to be celebrated that night.

LL Cool J joins a group of Billy Preston and Randy Rhoades to receive the Musical Excellence Award. Poet Gil Scott Heron will also be celebrated with the Early Influence Award.

Jay-Z will join other hip hop acts such as The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, NWA, Run DMC, Public Enemy, and Beastie Boys.

The induction ceremony will take place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, October 30. It will be taped to air on HBO Max later this year.
