Whenever actor and singer Jamie Foxx thanks the people who helped him become the man he is today, more often than not he pays homage to his deceased grandmother, Esther Talley. Raised in foster care, neither Foxx's mother or father played a significant role in his upbringing. But healing comes with time. And now Foxx is looking to reconcile with his mother.
“We’re trying to learn (about) each other, the one thing I think is great is she’s in the same house,” he told Britain’s Sunday Times. “You realize certain things that you missed when you were growing up, like ‘Oh, I do that because of that.’ or ‘Oh, I do this because of this.'”
Though his maternal relationship is being mended, Foxx says the same cannot be said for the relationship with his father. But he's optimistic about a reconciliation.
“Fingers crossed, it will become a real thing, but the door is open. That’s one thing I’ve learned always keep the door open and your heart open-don’t hold grudges.”
