Dwyane Wade Speaks on Fatherhood

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last day or so then you likely have heard all the drama about Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade’s so-called secret child, which was conceived while he and fiancée Gabrielle Union were on a break. The Internet is in flames over his so-called transgression.

But Wade had this to say about the newborn baby boy during a press conference at the Pepsi Center prior to a game against the Denver Nuggets.

"I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy,” Wade said of his relationship with Union. “So I’m moving on.”

“I always focus on what’s most important to me and my family, and that’s being a great father. I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now. So, I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that’s evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her, with our lives.”

For those that wish to lambast Wade, a fifth of whom were probably born of similar circumstances, it truly matters not. Artificially-induced feelings of hate are digital in the modern age. Dwyane has been near the top of the Internet crap list since divorcing his ex-wife and getting with Union several years ago.

The term secret would lead one to believe that the child was kept from Union. The only secret is that the general public wasn’t aware of it, as if the next person’s paternal circumstances has anything to do with the general public anyway.  The age of media scrutiny via assumptions and innuendo. Gotta love it!
