The trailer for The Lion King dropped and social media went wild.
Over the Thanksgiving break, Disney released the teaser trailer for its ‘live-action’ remake film, The Lion King.
More than 224 million people watched the clip in the first 24 hours—the most viewers ever for a Disney movie trailer.
The film features an all-star cast, including Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, James Earl Jones, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, John Oliver, and Beyoncé, among others.

Here are three fun facts you should know before going to see the film.
- The film is more so photoreal animation as opposed to ‘live-action.’ When you’re re-watching Mufasa die, don’t let the realism of the film traumatize you more than it should.
- Jon Favreau, who also helmed Disney’s live-action/CGI hybrid version of “The Jungle Book” in 2016, is directing.
- Elton John and Tim Rice have been working with Beyoncé on a brand-new song for the end-credits scene.
