DeMarco Murray being shipped to the Titans

The remnants of the Chip Kelly era are being cleaned out quick, fast and in a hurry in Philadelphia.

DeMarco Murray, the former rushing champion, went to the city of brotherly love with big expectations and a bigger wallet, only to flat short of pretty much everything fans hoped for when they signed him away from Dallas. Well today many fans got their wish as the Eagles are shipping the running back off to the Tennessee Titans.

Murray never got going in Kelly’s offense and even after the coach was fired, Murray seemed to be keeping his distance from new Eagles coach Doug Pederson.

“I don’t know,” Pederson said, when asked if Murray was happy. “I haven’t talked to him. I can’t tell you one way or the other if he is or not.”

Pederson and the Eagles have taken out their broom and are in the process of sweeping everything Chip Kelly out of the organization, including Murray, Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso. And although these trades can’t be made official until the League’s new year begins at 4pm EST on Wednesday, the writing on the wall is clear.

There’s a new sheriff in town, and his name is Doug Pederson.

But it’s not all bad news for Murray. He instantly upgrades the Titans’ backfield and he has the impressive Marcus Mariota under center and have the number 1 pick in the NFL Draft this year.

Maybe a move down South will help DeMarco out.
