While Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott has been the controversial conversion of social media and sports analysts all offseason, and the subject of an investigation by the NFL into his risky behavior off the field, quarterback Dak Prescott has been cool, quiet and consistent with his actions and protection of his professional reputation.
His focus is totally on football, as he and his Dallas teammates are still beaming with confidence following last years NFC East division title.
On Wednesday at the ESPY Awards pre-ceremony red carpet, the sophomore QB predicted another title for Dallas.
“We’re the Cowboys. We’re gonna win the NFC East,” Prescott said.
Then he proceeded to take the stage and receive his “Best Breakthrough Athlete” award.

The dynamic duo of Prescott and Elliott behind the best offensive line in football makes Dallas lethal in every game.
The Cowboys enter the season as favorites and are obviously feeling themselves. But the NFC East is stronger than it was last season with the Eagles getting Carson Wentz some new targets, Washington adding some key additions on defense, and Eli Manning possessing even more weapons for the well-balanced Giants to close the gap on Dallas.
As good as their offense will be, the Cowboys still have some holes on D.
Speaking on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, ex-quarterback Chad Pennington discussed how teams could adjust to Prescott now that theyve had a season to study him on tape and expose his weaknesses. This season will be a true test.
“It’s going to be challenging, it really will be,” Pennington said. “And the challenging thing for Dak is to not get caught up in measuring numbers. Not comparing numbers from last year to this year. Focus on decision-making. Focus on, are you putting your team in the right position? Don’t worry about stats. Let fantasy football take care of that. Because he could actually play better and his stats be less.”.
