Chauncey Billups is heading back to Detroit for two more years so he can finish his career where it really took off. Nine years after bringing a title back to the D, Billups will lace them up again albeit in a much lesser role. At just over $5 million, Billups will mentor young guard Brandon Knight and come off the bench to support the team he once ran.
He'll be joined by fellow free agent Josh Smith, who predicted that the Pistons will make the playoffs next season. The addition of Billups will certainly help that bold prediction.
Billups will also be reunited with former teammate Rasheed Wallace, who joined Detroit's coaching staff earlier in the week.
